Charitable

Charity and bingo have gone hand in hand almost since the game was devised. Bingo was originally played in church halls to raise money for local communities and played as fundraisers for all sorts of charities over the years.

Carlton Bingo is happy to continue the charitable tradition of bingo, although perhaps on a larger scale than the average church fundraiser.  In fact, since 2006, we have donated over £100,000 to some of the most deserving charities around.

Most recently we raised over £16,300 in 2015 and there was an industry wide total of £250,000 raised for the Variety Children's Charity.  We would like to give a nice big thank you to all our generous customers for helping contribute to another great cause.

Our donations include:

  • Over £16,300 to Variety Children's Charity in 2015
  • Over £3,500 to Yorkhill Kids Hospital and the Edinburgh Sick Kids in 2014
  • Over £13,000 to Alzheimer Scotland in 2012
  • Over £13,000 to Breakthrough Breast Cancer in 2011
  • Over £15,000 to Breakthrough Breast Cancer in 2010
  • Over £2,000 to MFR Cash for Kids (raised in our Inverness Bingo Club)
  • Over £9,000 to Breakthrough Breast Cancer in 2009
  • Over £2,000 to MFR Cash for Kids (raised in our Inverness Bingo Club)
  • Over £18,000 to Breakthrough Breast Cancer in 2008
  • Over £18,000 to Breast Cancer Awareness in 2007
  • Over £21,000 to Breakthrough Breast Cancer in 2006

We will continue to raise money for worthy causes, thanks to the unrivalled generosity of our customers and staff.

The charities we choose are picked because they are particularly close to the hearts our customers and staff.  We are always overwhelmed by the generosity of customers and the work staff put into charity events in our Bingo Clubs all over the country.
